CHESTER BENNINGTON QUOTES II

American singer (1976-2017)

What's the worst thing I've stolen? Probably little pieces of other people's lives. Where I've either wasted their time or hurt them in some way. That's the worst thing you can steal, the time of other people. You just can't get that back.

If I know all the words to a song -- or even if I know just two of them -- I will sing those as loud as possible. And my wife is like, 'Could you please stop that?' Because I sing really loud. It's not like I'm in the corner going 'la la la la la.' I'm f---ing going crazy, you know? Spit is flying all over the windshield and on the steering wheel and all that good stuff.

I don't like my mind right now
Stacking up problems that are so unnecessary
Wish that I could slow things down
I wanna let go but there's comfort in the panic

Gut instincts are always so hit and miss. When it hits, you're like, "Wow, I totally knew that was gonna happen!" But when you miss, it's like, "I can't believe I was so stupid!"

Alone in a world with millions of souls
Walking in circles
Trapped in our dreams unhealthy, unclean
Walking in circles, now
Do not disturb, scream in silence
Everyone's sleeping

I find that, it could be ... whether it's substances or whether it's behavior or whether it's depressive stuff, or whatever it is, if I'm not actively doing ... getting out of myself and being with other people, like being a dad, being a husband, being a bandmate, being a friend, helping someone out ... If I'm out of myself, I'm great. If I'm inside all the time, I'm horrible.

When I'm writing, I'm constantly thinking about myself, because it's the only experience I have to draw on. And I don't see an exact reflection of myself in every face in the audience, but I know that my songs have validity to them, and that's why the fans are there.

Can't you see that you're smothering me?
Holding too tightly, afraid to lose control
'Cause everything that you thought I would be
Has fallen apart right in front of you

So I'll turn on mine

It's the band that really counts and not our egos. Egos probably destroyed more bands than anything else did, and that's something we want to avoid at all costs. We want to give the audience something real, something spectacular, and if it would be about egos, it would hardly be worth their time.
